Ice & Cold Water Rescue Webinar - Free

This free webinar is offered to individuals who are interested in learning more about ice and cold water rescue and is generally relevant for First Responders (Fire, Rescue, EMS, Law Enforcement personnel) and those who work in public safety. Members of the general public or those who aspire to enter the rescue services are also invited to attend.

This 2-hour webinar covers basic concepts in cold water physiology and rescue, with a Q&A/discussion session to follow. Topics include:

• Cold water physiology (hypothermia & drowning)

• Ice formation
  

• NFPA 1670 & 1006 (Awareness, Operations and Technician levels; AHJ responsibilities)

• Threat assessment and the rescue process
  

• PPE and equipment
  

• The rescue process: Recognize, Assess, Act
  

• Self-rescue and subject-rescue concepts
